The Galata Tower

You really need to go up in the Galata Tower because you have a beautiful view.

It looks pretty scary first when you’re up there, but it's Okay. There is even a story about it but I'm not sure if you will learn it.

It's okay because when you stayed up there for about 5-10m you are accustomed to it. You can see it from very far.

It was built in1348 in Constantinople (Istanbul) it is know as the tower of the Christ. It’s to the north of the Golden Horn, it was rebuilt several times. There is a modern restaurant, café on the upper floor with an extra magnificent view of Istanbul and the Bosphorus.The tower is66.90 meters high 62.59 without the ornament. It was built to replace the old tower built in 1203

In1717the Galata tower was used to spot fire in the city. Another fire damaged the tower in1838. In1875the roof was destroyed because of a storm, unfortunately it stayed there until1965-1967.from the top of the tower, the first French panorama painter drew Constantinople.
